The city to which Christian Tuempling emigrated in the late eighties was one of splendors and squalor, a city of miracles. He soon moved to Brooklyn which has proven a fertile venue.

Never surrendering the perspective of the outsider, Christian Tuempling has focused his camera on the world around him as much as the world within him.

His work is in the collections of the Museum of the City of New York and the New York Transit Museum, private and corporate collections, and has been exhibited in various galleries.

His time is devoted to constructing images of a world beyond our understanding.
